Hello, families! Since you will be doing distance learning for the foreseeable future, I recommend checking out the "Learning Links" tab on our class website. There, you will find dozens of educational activities to do at home to help reinforce what students have been learning at school. Many of the links include resources geared toward kindergarten through 6th grade. |
1. Go outside for at least an hour each day - play in the yard, read on the porch, or go for a walk (avoid public playgrounds or play spaces).
2. Pick a topic you'd like to learn about and spend 30 minutes each day researching that topic.
3. Go through all of your toys and decide which to keep and which to donate later.
4. Build the tallest tower you can, using blocks or Legos.
5. Bake something.
6. Create a blanket fort.
7. Hide a toy in your house, then draw a detailed map of where to find it.
8. Listen to a podcast (6 minutes is a great one).
9. Do a STEM activity, using materials you already have (there are tons of ideas online).
10. Write a short story or poem.
11. See how long you can play with your sibling(s) without fighting. ;)
12. Learn a new card game.
13. Build a nest out of blankets & pillows, climb inside, and read a book.
